Paul D. Camp Community College is currently recruiting for a Nurse Aide/Allied Health Adjunct Instructor with a commitment to the community college mission and experience working in a diverse student population, including adult learners and at-risk students. The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, continuous improvement through professional development, assessment, program and course development, and creating a collegiate environment. The college strives for a faculty of content experts who are also knowledgeable about best practices, innovative strategies, and instructional technologies that support teaching and learning.Duties include, but are not limited to:1 Become familiar with the philosophy, objectives, and policies of the nursing program and the Nursing Student Handbook.2 Attend selected nursing faculty and/or curricular meetings as designated by the dean.3 Assign clinical and meet with the facility coordinator for orientation for instructor and the students. Each agency has specific requirements.4 Select patient assignments and learning experiences according to classroom instruction and the student needs; give to the student the day prior to the clinical experience5 Review the clinical objectives with the student.6 Conduct pre- and post-clinical conferences.7 Assist students in the integration and reinforcement of learning by relating knowledge and skills of nursing and other disciplines to the learning experiences of the clinical setting.8 Serve as a role model and resource person.9 Be accessible to students at all times in clinical.10 Evaluate and record student progress and confer at the end of each rotation and midterm in terms of strengths and areas where improvement is needed; an evaluation is written on the designated form.11 Maintain a climate conducive to learning.12 Establish and maintain cooperative relationship with staff and personnel of clinical agencies.13 Maintain a record of student absences from clinical and class and provide student with written documentation when students are at risk.14 Provide instruction in clinical skills in the campus Skills Laboratory and didactic instruction.
Must be a Registered Nurse who holds a current unrestricted license in Virginia or a multi-state licensure privilege.The College desires candidates with a commitment to the community college mission and experience working in a diverse student population, including adult learners and at-risk students. Must complete the Train-the-Trainer course for Nurse Aide within 6 months of hire. Current CPR (BLS for healthcare providers) and documentation of all routine healthcare employee immunizations. Flexible schedule; ability to travel to all campuses and various learning facilities. Official transcripts will be required prior to final offer.
