Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Teaching all students in Grade 1 to Grade 5 once a week (17 hours instruction time)
Developing appropriate curriculum and projects for each grade level
Collaborating with classroom teachers to put together interdisciplinary projects
Promoting the culture of a bilingual, international school
Commuting between two separate campuses (approx 2.5 miles apart)
Leading all aspects of the Art Show in May
Attending relevant parent events (for example, back to school night) as determined by the Division Head
Assessing all students through bi-annual report cards
Working with all teachers to follow students’ overall progress
Projecting a professional and positive demeanor at all times
We are seeking a candidate with:
A passion for teaching art to children
The enthusiasm and innovation to be able to offer a variety of high level projects in various media
Knowledge and expertise in the field of art, with continued attention to current research about art education
Effective interpersonal skills for department, colleague, and parent communication
Strong written and oral skills
A desire to encourage the artistic strengths of individual students and the ability to adapt instruction for various learning styles

Founded in 1980 as a one-classroom preschool, the French-American School of New York (FASNY) has offered the best in bilingual education for local francophone families and expatriate students for more than forty years.
