The East Coast Conference, an NCAA Division II athletic conference located in West Babylon, N.Y., is seeking an individual to serve as the conference's Communications and Operations Intern. This is a fixed-term 10-month, part-time position that pays a monthly stipend with no benefits and no relocation costs provided. Telecommuting is permitted except for conference championships where in-person attendance is required. The anticipated start date is August 30, 2022.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Write and publish content on the East Coast Conference website
Produce content for the East Coast Conference social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) including designing graphics for the conference's weekly and yearly award programs
Set up and produce multi-camera broadcasts at East Coast Conference championships
Write, edit, and disseminate championship programs
Produce ECC Play of the Week videos and other video content as assigned
Identify and organize volunteer opportunities at championships
Plan and administer student-athlete special events
Assist with preparation for conference meetings
Oversight of championship inventory and championship handbooks
Review marketing plans and scripts for championships and special events
On-site coordination of conference championships
Assist with conference awards program and record keeping
Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Photoshop/Illustrator to create graphics and videos, BlueFrame's Production Truck live streaming software, content management systems (preferably on a PrestoSports website), and a basic understanding of writing according to AP style guidelines are strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and an understanding of NCAA rules.
The applicant must be available to travel as needed. A valid driver’s license is required.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or working towards a master’s degree in communications, multi-media, public relations, sports management, or a related field.
Previous experience in a collegiate or professional media relations, video production environment, and/or operations is preferred.
