Description Deliver high level instruction to University students on acoustic guitar as required for students' degree programs. Devise and develop a course of study appropriate for each student according to their degree program. Degree programs include: BM in Music Performance, Bachelor of Music Education (Instrumental Emphasis), and Bachelor of Arts in Music. Also instruct students who pursue the Minor in Music and those who are pursuing a major course of study outside of Music.
The instructor will be responsible to deliver 15 lessons per semester and to monitor progress of students toward the completion of the Instrumental Music Jury at the end of each semester.
Essential Duties:
Develop syllabi appropriate to each level of degree instruction.
Develop appropriate and progressive repertoire study for each student
Deliver weekly lessons of 30- or 60-minutes to each student according to credit hours assigned
Provide lessons on the campus of Webster University
Evaluate and develop weekly progress of students
Prepare performance and music education majors for degree recitals
Prepare all students for semester performance juries
Attend and evaluate students at semester performance juries
Assist students in preparing repertoire for any assigned ancillary ensemble performances
Participate in any departmental assessment activities related to classical guitar lessons

Minimum Qualifications Master of Music Degree in Classical Guitar Performance or appropriate Performance Certificate in Classical Guitar. Minimum three years of successful experience teaching classical guitar at the University/Professional level.
Preferred Qualifications Master of Music Degree in Acoustic Guitar Performance or appropriate Performance Certificate in Acoustic Guitar. Minimum three years of successful experience teaching acoustic guitar at the University/Professional level. Demonstrated ability as a performer and teacher of classical guitar.
