Middle School Spanish Teacher (Grades 5-8) Berkshire Country Day School Stockbridge, MA Position Start Date: August 2022 Status: Part-Time
Berkshire Country Day school seeks a Spanish Teacher to teach Lower and Middle School Spanish from Grade 5 through Grade 8 for the 2022-2023 school year. The teacher will fuel intellectual engagement and inspire students to use the Spanish language correctly through reading, writing, analyzing, and critically thinking.

Berkshire Country Day School serves students in Preschool (beginning at age 2) through Eighth Grade.
Nurture learner’s interests in Spanish-speaking countries and cultures
Develop learner’s Spanish reading skills
Motivate learners to write with specified levels of proficiency in Spanish
Integrate world language and cultural learning across the curriculum; and
Integrate school and broader community resources to inspire a love of world language learning and service-minded actions.
Work alongside grade-level teams to build cross-curricular connections and interdisciplinary projects.
Facilitate age-appropriate exploratory, investigative, and challenging instruction.
Plan instruction that inspires enthusiasm, confidence, and a deep understanding of Spanish.
Create learning experiences by incorporating a range of instruction modalities.
Assess understanding using a variety of formative and summative assessments.
Utilize assessment feedback to adjust instruction and continuously improve student learning and maintain accurate student records such as grades and comments
Possess strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding curriculum and student progress
Support and act in accordance with the school’s mission and values
Teaching experience required
Bachelor’s degree required
Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish
Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
Ability to demonstrate a growth mindset, optimism, and belief that all students can learn required
Ability to innovate and think creatively about education
