ABOUT OPhA
The Oklahoma Pharmacists Association, headquartered in Edmond OK, was formed in 1890 to unite and promote the profession of pharmacy through advocacy, communication and education. OPhA facilitates pharmacists in the development of innovative pharmacy practices that demonstrate improved health outcomes for patients and reinforce the role of pharmacists as essential members of the healthcare team.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Executive Director of the Oklahoma Pharmacists Association provides leadership and vision for the profession of pharmacy in Oklahoma and nationally.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
The Executive Director should have a passion for the profession of pharmacy, and a strong understanding of health care delivery system and the political landscape. The successful candidate will possess well developed leadership and interpersonal skills. Experience in strategic planning, financial and project management, along with strong written and verbal communications skills are highly valued.
Critical competencies for this position include:
•a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in a management role
•Experience in membership devel...opment
•Knowledgeable in advocacy, legislative and regulatory processes.
