The Development Coordinator concentrates on successfully leading the annual fund, special events, and donor stewardship initiatives. The position is also responsible for effective and efficient use of resources and the donor management system to measure and achieve developmental goals. They think both strategically about the larger efforts of the organization, along with performing highly detailed and creative work daily.
Development Program Management:
Assist in the creation and implementation of an annual strategy for cultivating and stewarding donors through print and digital media, events, targeted appeals, and other innovative techniques to attract a diverse range of donors. Assume responsibility for various concert and fundraising efforts including product sales, obtaining items for sale in auctions and acquiring donations, including in-kind.
Special Events Coordination:
Lead all pre-event and day-of logistics for special events, working with event vendors, Guest Artists, and business sponsors. Attend concerts and work Box Office with sales of tickets and seating assignments.
Effectively utilize donor-tracking database through accurate entry, advanced reports, and integrated communication options. Oversee accurate gift processing standards, including timely gift entry and acknowledgement and integrity of data.
Serve as backup to Office Manager during multiple calls, higher office traffic, or time out of office.

Software and Online platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Donor management systems, Social media platforms, Internet based fundraising tools. Box office equipment, including tablets and card readers.
Reasoning Abilities & Language Skills: Demonstrate the ability to use sound judgement and discretion. Ability to read, interpret, and apply common sense understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Bachelor’s Degree or other advanced education in related field preferred.
1-3 years' experience working in fundraising, special events, donor communication, and project management of development programs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Working Environment: Primarily works in an office environment at a desk in a well-lit, air-conditioned office, with moderate noise levels. From time to time will be required to work out of doors with exposure to natural elements (sun, wind, rain etc.) for event management. Work outside of normal office hours may be required including nights and weekends.
Physical Demands: Activities require a significant amount of sitting at a desk in front of a computer monitor, including using a keyboard and mouse extensively. Requires ability to speak on the phone and utilize a visually based database and social media programs. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, lift and/or move supplies up to 50+ pounds with assistance (e.g. with dolly or push carts) for special event set up. Presence at specific events for extended periods that include standing, hauling material, and set up in various weather conditions.
