Mills College at Northeastern University is seeking part-time faculty to teach a variety of courses at the Oakland campus in the fall 2022 semester. Through its research, teaching, and engagement missions, the college collaborates across the university, the Northeastern network, and partners around the globe. The Departments of Literature and Languages, Social & Historical Studies, Race, Gender & Sexuality Studies, Public Policy, Art and Visual Culture, and Dance and Theater Studies seek applicants to teach courses in one or more of the following fields: First Year Writing; Advanced Writing; Urban Studies; Native American Studies; Technology Studies; Introductory Sociology; Introductory Theater; Art Fundamentals; Visual Studies.
Responsibilities include: developing a syllabus, assignments, assessments and course schedule to meet required learning outcomes; developing and delivering course content using the Mills College at Northeastern teaching and learning platforms and facilities; holding appropriate office hours; engaging with departmental and university part-time faculty obligations as required.
The courses will be taught in person on the Mills College at Northeastern campus in Oakland, California.
M.A. required, Ph.D. or A.B.D. preferred. Preference will be given to persons experienced in teaching large and diverse groups of students.
