The purpose of the Fleet Operations Intern is to assist assistance overall in managing the Dairyland Fleet assets workload.

The Impact You'll Make in This Role

- Provide Fleet mechanics with necessary assistance in the preparation of work orders, parts inventory, paperwork, vehicle/equipment preparation, troubleshooting and repair to ensure stakeholder expectations are met in a timely fashion.

- Update appropriate work management systems and/or other DPC systems to ensure the accuracy of the work performance of Fleet assets, telematic systems, or other tools being used to manage the Fleet at Dairyland.

- Assist the Parts Specialist with inventory management to ensure parts are available for the necessary work required on the Fleet assets at Dairyland.

- Job shadow Fleet Mechanics based on student’s interests.

- Provide detailing services for pool cars, construction, and maintenance vehicles.

Education & Experience: High School graduate. Enrollment in a qualified technical college in auto mechanics or related field preferred.

Skills: Computer literacy required. Ability to wash, wax and vacuum vehicles. Must have a safe driving record and be able to navigate safely to pick-up and deliver parts from vendors using a light duty truck.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver’s License

Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching/stooping, squatting, crawling, twisting upper body, bending, reaching/stretching required to inventory, arrange, and clean parts (weighing up to 50 lbs.) Must be able to operate/manipulate Fleet assets, pallet trucks, carts, overhead cranes, and hand tools. Must be self-directed and work with moderate supervision.
