Job Summary
The Assistant Instructional Graphic Designer works on a part-time basis to support the work of eLearning Design & Services. This role works under the guidance of senior graphic design team members, and in conjunction with IU faculty and eDS staff (instructional designers and web developers) to design and create graphic assets in support of the online teaching and learning mission at IU. This may include custom illustration, user interface design elements, infographics, slide decks, animations, and other related assets.
General Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day creative support for the eDS Instructional Design and Graphic Design teams - primarily assisting with course graphics, module banners, icons, etc.
Collaborate with instructional design staff to interpret faculty's pedagogical needs and develop design assets to achieve their goals.
Participate in an iterative design environment - interact with stakeholders, present your work, receive feedback, and follow through with revisions.
Research course content as necessary to develop a sufficient understanding to produce relevant graphic assets.
Accurately track project and task status in the Wrike project management tool.
Work to support the IU brand, in accordance with brand guidelines and best practices.

Required
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
SKILLS
Required
Professionalism, dependability, and respect for others.
Excellent decision-making skills and ability to function with autonomy.
Understanding of effective visual design, typography, and photo editing.
Possesses excellent communication skills.
Comfortable working with Google Drive, Slides, Docs, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and other Adobe Creative software, or experience with comparable creative tools .
Ability to keep working files well-organized for future need.
Preferred
Working knowledge of web development technologies, including basic HTML/CSS.
Experience with animation and/or video editing.
Work Location
This position will be based at either Bloomington, Indiana (IUB) or Indianapolis, Indiana (IUPUI) and will work with eDS staff across multiple campuses.
This position has the potential for a remote work arrangement.
