Summary of position:

The part-time Accounting Clerk is responsible for processing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable tasks along with some administrative work. The schedule will be flexible after training with 20 hours per week.

The ideal candidate has a good understanding of GAAP and will demonstrate general knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.

The successful candidate is an organized self-starter capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks. Knowledge of federal and state of Arizona grants is a plus.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

• Accounts Receivable

• Process check, credit card and Automated Clearing House (ACH) deposits for multiple entities on a weekly basis
• Prepare and record invoicing for membership dues, grants, etc.
• Maintain Political Action Committee (PAC) contributions spreadsheet
• Review aging, send out monthly statements, and pursue collection of outstanding balances

• Accounts Payable

• Enter invoices in accounting system for payment ensuring correct approval, coding, and support are present
• Resolve any discrepancies 
• Pay vendors by their due date
• Gather all information for credit card transactions, post the entry and the payment 
• Obtain W-9's and Certificates of Insurance (COI’s) from vendors
• Assist Staff Accountant with processing annual 1099's and 1096

• Recordkeeping/Monthly Duties

• Process Consent Manual receipts and payables 
• Save executed contracts electronically and file the paper copies
• Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner
• Provide support for the year-end financial and single audits

• Team Support

• Assist Director of Finance and Operations, Staff Accountant and other team members in a positive, timely manner
• Contribute to AzHHA team by assisting with other projects

• This position will work in the office in downtown Phoenix with the option to work remotely on occasion.

Minimum education:

Associate degree or in pursuit of an accounting, or related discipline, degree.

Minimum experience:

One or more years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience.

Computer Skills:

Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe, Microsoft Dynamics SL.
