Lower School Junior Kindergarten Assistant Teacher (Alexandria, VA)
St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School (SSSAS) of Alexandria, VA is looking to hire a part-time (daily 8:30am-12:30pm) Junior Kindergarten Assistant Teacher who wants to make a real difference in the lives of our youngest students. Are you passionate about teaching language arts, social studies and mathematics as well working with, guiding, and inspiring preschool aged children personally and academically? Do you have non-academic interests and passions that you are excited to share with others? Welcome to the opportunity to be part of a supportive and amazing faculty in a positive, inclusive environment.
In order to help our students succeed in a complex and changing world, we seek to inspire a passion for learning, an enthusiasm for athletic and artistic endeavor, a striving for excellence, a celebration of diversity, and a commitment to service (taken from the St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Mission Statement). None of these things would be possible without the work of a dedicated and highly-trained faculty whose love of learning inspires and motivates children each day. We believe that our teachers are our greatest assets regardless of their responsibilities or the amount of time they spend in a classroom. We also believe that the best teaching occurs when teachers work collaboratively. Whether those partnerships are made up of pairs or more, we believe in creating strong partnerships for all of our teachers.
The Junior Kindergarten Assistant Teacher will support two Junior Kindergarten classrooms, each led by two co-lead teachers. Candidates will need to have a degree in elementary education or the equivalent.
Assistant teachers will:
