Fairleigh Dickinson University-Metropolitan is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Graduate Assistant Track and Field Coach. The position will work directly with the head coach of the men's and women's Track & Field and Cross Country programs. This position is a two-year position with the candidate pursuing a graduate degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University-Metropolitan. The selected candidates will be assigned responsibilities based on their skill set within the sport.

Compensation:Graduate tuition; housing; and stipend
Responsibilities:
Assist with team travel
Handle social media responsibilities
Assist coaches with practice, competition preparation and execution
Assist in organizing team meals
Help with scheduling community service
Help to organize camps and clinics
Recruiting off-campus, calling recruits, email/text recruits and setting up on-campus visits
Willingness to work camps both on and off-campus all year round.
Be a part of daily office hours with the rest of the staff and student-athletes.
Set up individual tutoring and learning sessions with the help of our Academic Advisor
May participate in various fundraising, marketing, promotional and alumni relations activities
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of throwing events
Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Acceptance into a graduate program at FDU
Must take NCAA recruiting exam within 30 days of hiring.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must be willing to travel and be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as required.
Must have a First Aid and CPR certification or obtain them during the 90-day Introductory Period. National Red Cross Certification preferred.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university’s Motor Vehicle policy. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.

Other recent milestones include men's basketball winning the 2019 NEC championship and going on to win the first NCAA Tournament game in school history. In addition to recent championships, FDU also holds two NCAA National Championships in the sport of bowling (2006, 2010).
