Overview As Wellness Resource Coordinator, this position will be a .75 FTE responsible for developing a referral resource guide and community partnerships for students. This position will identify community resources and will serve as the University liaison with community resources. This position will also be responsible for launching and coordinating a physical campus-based food pantry and developing programs using current resources to assist individuals, groups and the campus as a whole to be healthier. This position is a part of a federally funded grant through 2026 to support wellness activities under the supervision of the TUC Director of Student Success Services.
Responsibilities
Develop a referral resource guide and community partnerships for the TUC community
Create, coordinate, launch and manage a campus-based food pantry.
Create, market, promote and maintain files for food distribution, and the food pantry
Recruit and manage food pantry volunteers
Coordinate with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano
Complete an annual community needs assessment of student resource needs, develop a strategic resource referral plan, coordinate with community resources to develop referral resources for students, staff and faculty
Coordinate with the CARE team to provide individual case management and resource referrals
Comply with and observe all health codes, departmental service standards, and to all health, safety, rules and regulations by the University, City, County, and State health agencies.
Attend and participate in organizational meetings as required.
Work as a team with other programs, community agencies, and staff.
Reports to work, when needed, ready to work at the time work assignment is scheduled to begin.
Cooperate and communicate with other University staff and students to promote a positive campus climate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications QUALIFICATION(S):
Familiarity with Solano County resources
Knowledge of the administrative software programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Google
Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE:
High school or vocational school graduate or equivalent.
Bachelors degree in social work or related field preferred
Good working knowledge and use of the English language
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to handle pressure, exercise quick thinking, and maintain an adequate energy level through the work day.
Able to work in an environment that is subject to temperature changes.
Able to tolerate standing and lifting throughout the work day.
Ability to exhibit and maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, appearance, behavior, and attitude.
Must work safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and campus faculty, staff, and students.
Promptly reports personal injury to Supervisor and seeks first aid as required.
OTHER TRAINING OR CERTIFICATION:
California Department of Motor Vehicles printout of the new employees driving record (Required)
First Aid Certificate must be acquired during the employees probationary period
