POSITION IS LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TN

The Department of General Dentistry at The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine invites applications for an Instructor/Assistant Professor of General Practice Residency (GPR) Dentistry Program. This is a part-time, non-tenure-track instructor/associate professor, and Assistant Program Director position.

Responsibilities will include: providing leadership for all residents and staff, providing ongoing evaluation of program content, help residents develop presentations using photographs, PowerPoint and other computer skills, help develop and implement the program curriculum, assists Program Director in the evaluation of resident training in affiliated institutions and off-service rotations, provides clinical patient care as directed by Program Director, provides direct supervision of residents in patient care, to include treatment planning, treatment, and follow-up care, serves as senior resident supervisor in the absence of the Program Director, and develops programs for resident instruction, to include lectures, seminars, and/or clinical demonstrations.

A successful applicant will also be responsible for supervision of dental residents and staff, as assigned by the Program Director, and provide clinical patient care as directed by Program Director and teaching residents including lecture, mentorship, and/or supervision in the clinic and OR.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements are successful completion of a General Practice Residency Program or Advanced Education in General Dentistry program, Tennessee Dental License, current DEA registration, CPR and BCLS certificate, and Drivers' license. Additionally, applicants should have previous teaching and supervisory experience preferred and clinical experience in all areas of General Dentistry preferred.
