The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community (IIDC) is one of only 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. The Institute conducts research and training through seven Centers: Early Childhood Center, Center on Education and Lifelong Learning, Center on Community Living and Careers, Center for Health Equity, Indiana Resource Center for Autism, Center for Collaborative Systems Change, and the Eppley Institute on Parks and Public Lands.
The Eppley Institute is Indiana University's unique outreach program for the park, recreation, and public land management professions and works to enhance the quality of natural, cultural, and recreational experiences for all people. The Institute provides expertise in several areas, including technical assistance and research, planning and design, and training and education for the National Park Service, state parks, municipal governments, and other similar organizations around the world.
The part-time research specialist will be a key member of the Eppley team, aiding the Eppley Institute Executive Director and Principal Investigator (PI), co-PI, and other members of the research team with institute projects. In particular, the specialist will support projects related to applied research and evaluation.
Interested applicants will independently complete project tasks, with some guidance. Research and evaluation project work includes but is not limited to:
Conducting background research (e.g., writing a literature review, preparing an annotated bibliography).
Contributing to research design.
Managing a research study (e.g., participating recruitment & contact, human subjects protocols).
Developing data collection instruments.
Collection, analysis, and reporting/presentation of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method data.
Master's degree coursework or higher.
Experience with editing, proofreading, writing, and formatting documents.
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
Experience with web-based survey software, such as Qualtrics.
Experience with statistical software, such as SPSS or R.
Experience with Zoom.
Research and evaluation - Skills and knowledge related to research and evaluation projects, as outlined in the job summary.
Attention to detail - Exhibits accuracy and thoroughness in review of print and electronic media.

Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to use a computer, printer, large color printer, scanner, and telephone.
