Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.CVCC is recruiting for adjunct instructors to co-teach for the Medical Assistant Program. Instructors must have experience teaching and expert knowledge of all clinical, administrative, and medical aspects of the job. Adjunct Instructors are responsible for effectively teaching students in assigned classes and /or clinical environments. Examples of courses are EKG, Venipuncture and Specimen Collection, Basic Patient Intake, Pharmacology, and other related medical skill classes.
Current Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or higher certification such as RN, LPN, PMA.â¢ Must demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field.Minimum of an Associate degree in health sciences or equivalent experience.â¢ Employment experience in a healthcare facility, including observing administrative and clinical procedures as performed by medical assistants.â¢ Be credentialed in good standing in medical profession.â¢ Maintain active and current license, certifications, and professional development.â¢ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.â¢ Proven technological proficiency, which may include Microsoft Office 365 applications.â¢ Prior online teaching experience using a Learning Management System.â¢ Must submit to a background check as a condition of employmentâ¢ The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
