Holy Names University invites applications for a part-time, adjunct faculty position in Biology in the School of Science, Allied Health, and Nursing for the Spring Semester 2022, beginning January 10, 2022.
BIOL 017: Human Anatomy
Integrated lecture and laboratory study of human anatomy from the microscopic to macroscopic levels. This course provides a survey of the morphological basis for the synthesis of anatomy, physiology, and clinical sciences. This course is designed for Kinesiology majors and students officially enrolled in the HNU Nursing Preparation Program. If space allows, other interested students may enroll with the permission of the Coordinator of Sciences.
One section of BIOL 017 (3 units) is available to be taught in the online, synchronous mode on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30-2:45pm.
Two sections of BIOL 017 Lab (3 units each) are available to be taught in the hybrid, asynchronous mode on Mondays from 1:30-5:30pm and Tuesdays from 1:30-5:30pm.
The maximum lecture class size is 40 students and the maximum lab class size is 20 students. The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) offers training in online teaching. CETL will evaluate adjuncts' past work to see if training is required.
QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must have at least Master's Degree in Biology, Kinesiology, or a closely related field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online and at the college level. The successful candidates will have the chance to engage a very diverse community of learners and to work closely with a collegial group of experienced faculty. *This position is not eligible for remote work outside of California.
