Classification Summary: This class is the first level in the Learning Services series. Incumbents coordinate and deliver instruction programs for students and monitor academic progress. Responsibilities may include providing instruction to students; reviewing test results; and maintaining records of student information.

Classification Duties: 1. Instruct students in a classroom setting in an assigned area of responsibility, ensuring applicable core competencies are addressed. (B2) 2. Plan lessons; teach, observe students; grade student assignments; and evaluate overall student performance. (B2) 3. Participate in the development of applicable instructional materials, exams, workshops, tutorials, presentations, support items, special programs, and/or other related items. (B2) 4. Plan, evaluate, and revise learning activities with students. Identify student needs to determine educational criteria needs. (B2) 5. Main student progress and goal database/folder. (B2) 6. Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
Knowledge: Instructional methodologies; Learning theory; Research methods; Student evaluation methods; Principles in assigned academic area; Advising processes and practices.
Skills: Providing customer service; Handling monetary transactions; Analytical thinking; Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
