Cook For Your Life is the only free, science-based, and bilingual cooking resource for the cancer community. Founded by in 2012 by a three-time cancer survivor, and acquired by Fred Hutch in 2019, this newly redesigned online resource is now a dynamic platform which incorporates features to improve user experience while enabling new scientific possibilities for better understanding how diet and behavior changes can impact cancer prevention and survivorship.
By participating in an internship at Fred Hutch, you will:

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Director, the Marketing Intern will learn the inner workings of managing a world class health-focused cooking platform. The duties of the intern will be performed virtually.
Intern duties may include:
Creating, refining and marketing culinary and health content on site and external channels (newsletters, social media, etc.) to maximize its usefulness and user engagement
Conducting audience and content research using social media and Google Analytics
Optimizing copy and landing pages for search engine optimization
Must be a college student with experience and interest in communications and marketing, public health or healthcare, or culinary arts.
Bilingual abilities in Spanish are a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-directed and able to work without supervision
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Reliable internet connection and access

Although Fred Hutchinson opened its doors in 1975, its history began about 20 years before that. In 1962 Fred Hutchinson envisioned a center devoted to studying cancer, a disease that took his brother’s life. Today Fred Hutchinson is contributing to the next waves of breakthrough treatments and prevention strategies. Fred Hutchinson collaborates with the Seattle Cancer Alliance, the National Cancer Institute, and the University of Washington.
