Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia - principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
Under the management of the Director of Network2Work@PVCC, the Marketing & Administrative Specialist will provide administrative support and assist with the programâ™s social media outreach & strategy. The Marketing & Administrative Specialist will assist with the development of N2W brand awareness, generating inbound traffic and encouraging engagement and enrollment. Work with the Director and the Network2Work team to create and publish content and maintain relationships with user communities on multiple platforms.
Provides support for the Connectors, Navigators and job-seekers we serve including managing the Appointment system for reservation of a scheduled meeting time.
Assist job-seekers in completing applications and forms.
Building and executing social media strategy through competitive and audience research
Setting up and optimizing pages within each social media platform, including weekly FB posts and LinkedIn updates.
Planning, developing, and distributing the quarterly N2W newsletter.
Interviewing and creating narrative & photo job seeker âœspotlightsâ for distribution to Panther Press, grantors and funders.
Providing warm and efficient services to answer or direct inquiries about Network2Work@PVCC
Opens and closes the office at 222 South Street according to the N2W@PVCC schedule
Performs facility management duties to include ordering and obtaining supplies, performing regular supply inventory, and managing the conference room calendar
Assist with the reception and organization of donated items to N2W@PVCC
Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Community Self-Sufficiency and the Director.
The Marketing and Administrative Specialist will have a solid understanding of how each social media channel works and how to optimize content so that it is engaging on those channels. The Marketing and Administrative Specialist is responsible for joining relevant conversations on behalf of the brand and âœsoft sellingâ the program by providing support to current and prospective job seekers, employers, and N2W Advocates. .
A background in marketing is desirable.
Proven working experience in social media outreach or as a digital media specialist
Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, SEO and CRO
Knowledge of online outreach and good understanding of major outreach channels
Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
Fluency in English
BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations
