Hillside School, located in Boulder County, Colorado, is currently seeking a part-time Business Manager to begin work in October 2021. This position will be a member of the senior leadership team and will report directly to the Head of School. The ideal candidate will be an active and enthusiastic participant on a highly collaborative administrative team, contributing to long-term planning as well as current operations. This 20 hour/week position, will involve both remote and in-person hours and has the potential to grow into a full-time position in the future.
Specific Duties Include:
Provide strategic recommendations to the Head of School based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation and revenue/expense analysis.
Ensure that financial records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles; monitor use of all funds. Includes bookkeeping, accounting, and regulatory filing.
Coordinate annual and long-term financial planning and budgeting for the school.
Manage financial communications with families - annual contracts, invoices, tuition assistance, delinquent accounts, etc.
Manage payroll service and employee benefits; provide guidance for decisions regarding HR policies and legal compliance and practices.
Manage accounts payable, including payment, contract negotiations, and coordination with third-party contractors and vendors.
Maintain Hillside’s insurance policies, overseeing all property, casualty, liability, D&O, and healthcare insurance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
Minimum of five years professional experience in finance or accounting; experience with independent school or other non-profit preferred
Proficient with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Power Point
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and adapt to frequent changes
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
Ability to clearly and concisely present complex financial data to various audiences
Personable, positive personality with customer service mindset
Sensitivity, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with training and experience
