The Music Facilities Assistant duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs basic and preventative maintenance and repair.
Identifies and reports items in the building that need repair.
Performs office/studio/classroom moves of physical items, such as cabinets, furniture, music stands.
Assists with performing physical inventories.
Performs or assists with event set-up/tear-down.
Performs seasonal removal of snow as needed from sidewalks and entrances using snow blowers and/or snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.
This position is open to students and non-students.
General knowledge at the high school level.
Previous facilities experience very helpful.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to work in a team environment and to interact and communicate with a wide variety of people.
Comfortable with computer system use.
Time management skills.
Ability to perform work in a safe and efficient manner.
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to move through multiple buildings inside and out across the Jacobs School of Music campus. Ability to stand for extended periods of time both indoors and outdoors. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to use hand and power tools.
