Foodservice Cashier (Part-Time, Evenings) Dining Service
Description Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a part-time Market Place Foodservice Cashier with Dining Service. This position is 15 hours per week for 40 weeks per year from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday-Friday.

This position processes customer transactions in the marketplace cafeteria with precision and in a timely fashion while working in a team setting under the direction of the Assistant Director, Operations.
Adheres to cash, declining balance, and credit transaction protocol and procedures as instructed and directed and is accountable for transactions made.
Demonstrates technical skills which include the use of appropriate math, reading, writing, and oral communication.
Counts cash drawer at beginning of shift to ensure accurate accounting of transactions.
Uses touch screen point of sale terminals to access student declining balance and staff/faculty charge accounts.
Maintains sanitary work area and completes cleaning assignments as directed.
Ability to work in a team setting.
Trains and supervises student employee cashiers.
Demonstrates ability to organize workloads and flexibility in altering personal work schedule to meet work goals designated by work supervisors.
Provides valuable customer feedback to Assistant Director and Dining Service Supervisors.
Other duties as assigned.
Prerequisites Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year experience as a cashier or hostess, preferably in a retail dining environment.
Basic math skills.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral instructions.
Ability to operate computerized integrated cash register.
Ability to supervise the work of others.
This position consists of a significant repetitive motion during transactions. Extended periods of standing and sitting. Ceramic tile floor material.
