The Au Sable Institute (ASI) seeks a part-time (up to 20 hours per week) Admissions Manager. The person filling this position will serve as the direct link between ASI and undergraduate students through the recruitment and admissions process. They will represent the Institute in articulating academic courses and the enrollment process, including admission and financial aid procedures, with all students served by the ASI College Academic Program. The Admissions Manager reports to the Director of College Programs.

We accomplish our mission through various programs including a college academic program which supports students from our 51 partner Christian colleges and universities, and offers 25 university-level courses each summer at multiple locations and online. This is a part-time position (10-20 hours per week, as duties require) with flexible hours with a compensation range of $14-$20 per hour, negotiable based on education and experience. Au Sable Institute is located in northwest lower Michigan, and preference will be given to candidates who are able to spend at least one month each summer on our campus. Housing will be provided for the employee during this time. ? Required • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in higher education or work with college students. • Excellent administrative skills, including use of Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools. • Demonstrated skill in communication using social media (Instagram), mobile strategy, video, and website content. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ?
Preferred • Two years professional experience working in undergraduate student recruitment and admissions or similar field. • Proven skills and experience in education marketing and recruitment. • Ability to travel (with compensation) to the Great Lakes Campus (Mancelona, MI) periodically through-out the year.
Essential Job Responsibilities • In all aspects of the job, share a personal commitment to the Christian faith and to the biblical principles of Creation care. • Create and implement a student recruitment plan that includes recruitment activities and communications with prospective students. • Utilize phone, text, email, Zoom, social media, and mail to communicate with prospective and enrolled students in a timely manner, providing superior student service. • Work with prospective students to complete application files prior to enrollment. • Review and evaluate student applications for admission and scholarship decisions. • Schedule and facilitate college visits and Zoom sessions to meet with prospective and enrolled students. • Develop relationships with Faculty Representatives and an understanding of their environmental programs and curriculum. • Develop relationships with college offices and officials responsible for off-campus programs. • Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of students as they progress through the admissions and enrollment process. • Attend all admission staff meetings and report on assigned duties. • Keep current on trends in Christian higher education and off-campus study programs. • Performs other job duties as assigned. ?
