THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED PART-TIME POSITION WORKING 25-30 HOURS PER WEEK.
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator this position perform/assist in performing research functions focused on: Epigenetics in ischemia Reperfusion Injury, Liver Donor quality and mechanistic study, Mechanistic studies in liver cancer, Maintain the kidney biorepository collection and samples. This is a part-time position 25-30 hours weekly.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for processing quality control for reagents.
Responsible for keeping track of samples, sample processing, isolation of nucleic acids, proteins, and associated quality control.
Conducts isolation of extracellular micro-vesicles, RT and QPCR reactions, and data analyses.
Performs hands-on-bench laboratory activities.
Work with live tissue, bodily fluids, and cell cultures, along with raw and isolated DNA/RNA samples, and analyze samples using PCR, microarrays and assays.
Maintains sample collections and labeling.
Uses various analysis such as Expressions Console, IPA, and MiScript PCR Analysis.
Operates and maintains laboratory equipment are in a clean working order.
Ensures adherence to all applicable, UTHSC, and governmental guidelines
Performs other duties as necessary.
