The technician assistant will work closely with the PI and research team in the Basic Science Research Group in the Division of Surgical Science at Department of Surgery at Columbia University. The technician assistant will perform multiple assignments under direct supervision.
Preparing materials for and assisting in experiments.
Performing simple experiments according to written protocols.
Ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies.
Maintaining a lab notebook or records related to task.
Assisting in the collection of lab chemical wastes.
Preparing simple solutions, buffers, media.
Performing other related duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory, research project or work unit.
High School graduate or equivalency certificate, technical training or equivalency, and some related laboratory experience, usually six months.
Minimum related experience:
6 months of related experience.
Intermediate MS Office skills
Must be able to successfully complete systems training requirements.
