The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Assistant Volleyball Coach. Responsibilities and duties are as follows: assist the Head Coach of Volleyball with practice and scouting, travel arrangements, procurement of supplies/equipment, interaction with support services, and perform in match coaching at the direction of the Head Coach of Volleyball. Candidate must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for the student-athlete, and have the ability to understand how to guide, teach, and communicate with collegiate student-athletes—must have comprehension of the demands placed on a Division I student-athlete—both in the classroom and in the competitive arena—and the willingness to help them succeed in both. Emphasis is placed on the commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of UCLA, the Pacific-12 Conference and the NCAA. Candidate must possess the ability to work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and other University units.

Required qualifications include: bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and a record of compliance in this area, effective communication skills with student-athletes, administrators, peers and the general public, coaching experience and ability to train elite volleyball athletes.
