This position is responsible for coaching upper school student athletes on the in-game strategies and techniques for athletic competition. The role motivates student athletes to develop and pursue excellence in volleyball while overseeing the development and culture of the entire program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assess player skills and assign team positions.
Develop practice plans and schedules.
Work with coaching staff to cover all duties as assigned.
Establishes and maintain standards of student behavior.
Teaches all necessary skills and game strategies.
Models appropriate behavior at all times.
Supervises students at all times.
Any other related duties as assigned by building administration.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise before school, recess, lunch, and dismissal activities
Provide support for and chaperone lower school functions (socials, dances, etc.)
Attend school-related functions, when appropriate, in support of students
Attend professional development opportunities
Model life-long learning through personal and professional growth
Serve as an ambassador for the school at Open Houses and other admissions or public relations activities
Minimum of 60 college credits
Experience with the necessary skills and techniques of volleyball as a player.
Coaching experience, school or club, preferred.
Possess effective knowledge of the sport along with ability to teach players.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administration, faculty, staff, players and parents.
