Position Classification: Part-time, 10-month, faculty, salaried exempt
Hours:15-20 hours per week, with greater hours during the busy season of college counseling and fewer hours during early fall and late spring

St. Christopher’s School, the largest all-boys school in Virginia and one of the largest and oldest boys’ schools in the Mid-Atlantic region, seeks a dynamic, experienced college counselor to join a counseling team dedicated to helping boys and their families navigate the college admissions process and make thoughtful college choices.

Advise students and parents about the college admissions process
Serve as a liaison with college admissions offices
Complete letters of recommendation and School Report Forms
Organize grade-level college counseling programming for students and parents
Assist with administration of standardized testing (PSAT, AP exams)
A minimum of 3-5 years of college admissions or school college counseling experience
Strong organizational skills
Ability to multitask and handle application deadline pressure
Effective communication skills, both written and oral
A college counseling philosophy that sees the college search as a process of discernment and personal growth
Appreciation of boys
Ability to interact effectively with students, parents, faculty and college admission representatives
