The Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) is located at the heart of the Indiana University Bloomington campus. Whether as a home away from home for the IU community, or a gateway for visitors, the IMU welcomes all. The Student Involvement and Leadership Center (SILC), located within the IMU, supports co-curricular life at IU Bloomington. The principal responsibility of SILC staff is to advise, mentor, and prepare students to be responsible leaders in the execution of their obligations to the IMU and the university. The creation and execution of co-curricular programs and services to support students, employees, alumni, and university guests is a vital component of the SILC office.
The Student Involvement and Leadership Center Office Assistant position provides vital front desk and administrative support for the SILC team. They are often the first impression a student, staff, alumni, or community member has of our office. Responsibilities include answering phone calls, overseeing the departmental email account, handling all tower office requests including keys, and coordinating the delivery of all mail to the department and student organizations. This position assists in the tracking and uploading of all p-card receipts for the department and departmental USO accounts, as well as oversees the ordering of all departmental Amazon orders. The department also relies on this position to do various research projects as well as other office tasks as assigned.
Currently enrolled as a student in the Fall 2021 semester at Indiana University.
One year of experience working in a customer service role.
Detail oriented and well organized. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately.
Working knowledge of IU systems and policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills using a variety of mediums. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
