Harvard Catalyst | The Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center facilitates clinical and translational research throughout the 27 Harvard Schools and Academic Healthcare Centers by educating and training investigators, providing tools and technologies that enable their research, and bringing institutions and diverse communities together to apply what we know to what we do in order to improve human health.
The Harvard Catalyst Biostatistics Program supports Harvard investigators undertaking clinical and translational research. Drawing on a team of highly skilled biostatisticians from the Harvard academic medical and hospital community, the program offers consultations and expertise on a range of relevant areas to researchers as they launch new clinical and translation projects. The program also promotes the development and mentoring of Harvard Catalyst biostatisticians, as well as biostatistical training for clinical and translational researchers.
The Program Manager position reports to Harvard Catalyst's Senior Director of Finance and Operations and to the faculty Program Leader. The Program Manager performs a wide range of duties in support of the goals of the program.
The position has four major areas of responsibility:
Planning, implementation, and integration of programmatic activities and operations
Budget oversight and program recourse allocation
Evaluation data gathering and analytics
Administrative oversight of the program and support for the Program Leader (ScD- level faculty) and all biostatistics consultants
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Manages the day-to-day operations of the program with high level of independency and under the direction of the faculty Program Leader who is remotely located. Works both strategically and tactically to plan, coordinate, and implement programmatic activities, resources, and services.
Works collaboratively with the Executive Director, the Department's Finance and Grants Administration team , with Harvard Catalyst other program directors and managers, and with 30+ Biostatisticians across multiple sites.
Oversees the Program's annual budget of over $1 million. Responsible for processing and properly documenting various programmatic expenses and maintaining a system of records and understanding and adhering to sponsor and university guidelines.
Organize and host a large annual symposium, as well as multiple educational sessions throughout the year; negotiate with vendors, prepare legal contracts, managing multiple priorities, requiring attention to details and self-direction.
Responsible for developing and maintaining systems that track and monitor program activities and progress and continuously provides reports for internal and external evaluations, in close collaboration with Harvard Catalyst Evaluations Manager.
Administrative responsibility from the effectiveness of the Biostatistics Program through engaging in continuous process improvement; identifying issues/problems/barriers that impede program objectives; proposing strategies to overcome challenges.
Develops and implements communications and marketing strategies to promote awareness and access to program and resources, in close collaboration with the Communications team. Responsible for maintain up-to-date and accurate information on the program website.
Works collaboratively with the rest of Harvard Catalyst programs to assure integration of activities and resources across Harvard Catalyst and the Harvard Community as a whole (as applicable).
Other duties as assigned.
This is a term appointment, with the end date of 4/30/2023, with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding.

BS/BA required. Minimum of five years relevant experience in project management.
Ability to work with a high degree of independence and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to adapt to change and function effectively in a dynamic organization. Excellent written and verbal skills. Advanced proficiency in office computer skills (MSOffice, Google, Zoom Meetings/Webinars, Qualtrics, Salesforce, WordPress). Aptitude and enthusiasm to learn new systems preferred. Ability to prioritize and work under competing deadlines.
