In collaboration with CONECT’s board of directors, lead and manage CONECT’s internal operations to ensure a financially successful trade association that consistently enhances its membership experience through trade and transportation advocacy, education, and networking opportunities. Continuously raise the organization’s profile by collaborating with the board to offer, plan and execute on innovate ways to grow membership, increase sponsorship and present best-in-class programs.
Office Administration: manage all CONECT office functions; manage one office assistant, collaborate with Executive Director and manage temporary help; manage all association accounting functions including payroll and purchasing in collaboration with accountant; negotiate contracts and manage 3rd party vendors including IT management, AV services, ; act as a financial steward of CONECT optimizing CONECT’s finances
Sponsorship sales and management: manage and sell CONECT’s sponsor programs; interact with sponsors and ensure sponsor satisfaction and retention
Board liaison: keep the board advised of association finances, challenges & opportunities and escalate challenges as appropriate; manage board meetings
Marketing: market the CONECT brand to increase memberships, event attendees and sponsors; manage social media accounts, posting content; manage Constant Contact and distribution of newsletters; manage media partners and partner association relationships
Event planning and execution: manage all events and event registration; find suitable event venues and negotiate equitable contracts; attend and manage the execution of all in person and virtual events including AV service providers
Web Site Management: manage CONECT’s web site, updating and maintaining it to ensure info is always current; create all new events on the website
Membership services – manage all member services; actively market and sell memberships and ensure member satisfaction
CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE:
Travel to in person events with some overnight travel (2 events per year) required
Must be able to communicate with impact & give concise, professional presentations
Must encourage teamwork effectively as well ensure accountability
Handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality results
Must provide and implement innovative solutions and lead continuous improvement
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Good understanding of hospitality industry – identifying venues, negotiating strong and lucrative contracts, appropriate space for meetings, etc.
Association & office management experience including membership sales & retention
Financial or accounting background a plus
Proficiency in Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Yourmembership is a plus
Proficiency in social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Constant Contact
Located in Southborough, MA, this 1000+ member-based 501.C4 non-profit trade association plans and executes 10-12 meetings, events, and conferences per year throughout New England.
