| Job Type: Seasonal/Periodic Application Deadline: April 19, 2021 Location: New York, NY (Virtual) Prep for Prep seeks one instructor for a rigorous, five-week-long intensive entrepreneurship program for gifted high school students. Jointly organized by Prep for Prep, Upperline Code, and Google, the Institute for Entrepreneurship will run Monday- Friday, 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM from July 6–August 6, 2021, and consist of academic and professional development components. The Prep for Prep Institute for Entrepreneurship (IFE) is an intensive five-week course for rising 10th and 11th graders in entrepreneurship fundamentals with coding and app development. The IFE culminates in a business plan competition for seed money for participants to invest in their businesses.
Since 2001, the IFE has provided entrepreneurship education to more than 640 talented young people of color and has been a tremendous addition to Prep’s Leadership Development Office’s efforts to increase the pipeline of diverse leadership in business and technology.
Responsibilities: The instructor will teach, in tandem, a proprietary curriculum to 25-30 rising high school sophomores and juniors to support current curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement. The instructor will meet weekly with staff to discuss student progress, additional program planning, and report to Prep for Prep staff and representatives. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. |
