The Office of Environmental Health and Safety at the University of Tennessee at Martin is currently accepting applications for a temporary, part-time Safety Technician to work 20 hours per week. This is a temporary position and the selected candidate will not be eligible for employee benefits.
Job Duties Include:
Perform routine fire and life safety inspections
Perform monthly inspections of portable fire extinguishers in all University Buildings in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 10
Check all emergency and exit lights in University Buildings
Inspect building interior spaces for safety compliance, egress and walkway safety and other safety concerns
Perform visual inspections of life safety devices, AED's and emergency showers
Inspect and flush emergency eyewash stations monthly
