Department ALUMNI RELATIONS (UA-ALUM-IUBLA) Department Information The IU Alumni Association (IUAA) brings over 700,000 IU graduates together to support one another and Indiana University throughout their lives. The IUAA activates IU's powerful global network through live events, webinars, scholarship programs, and seriously fun traditions. The association is a membership organization that connects alumni, students and friends through communications, activities, programs, and services. Additionally, it develops and supports volunteer leadership, serving as a voice for alumni as the university evolves and providing lifelong learning opportunities. Job Summary The IU Alumni Association Communities Team is working to provide consistent, meaningful communication to volunteer leaders across the world in the form of semi-weekly newsletters. The Communications Student Fellow will collaborate alongside Alumni Communities staff to build effective communications for our volunteer leaders worldwide. Duties of the Fellow will include:

??????????????This position is for Academic Year 2021-2022 with the potential to extend to future semesters. Required Qualifications Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University. Excellent communication skills. Attention to detail. Experience creating communications for a defined audience. Familiarity with general principles of newsletter design. Experience engaging audiences via social media. High-quality customer service and interpersonal skills. Collaborate attitude and ability to work on a team. Highly resourceful and self-motivated work ethic. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Eagerness and commitment to learn about and celebrate the identities and cultures of various diverse alumni populations including but not limited to alumni of color, LGBTQ+ alumni, and international alumni. Preferred Qualifications Experience with design software such as InDesign or Photoshop is a plus.
