The Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, seeks part-time instructors to teach one or more courses in the area of Accounting for the 2021-2022 academic year. These courses are part of the curriculum for the online MBA program.
Applicants should have an MBA, Ph.D., or advanced coursework in Accounting, and be familiar with standard business and accounting frameworks. Experience teaching with the case method and teaching in an online format preferred.
Course lists: 264V- Business Taxation (Elective) Develops and applies a framework for analyzing how income taxes affect business decisions and company strategy. Applications include the role of taxes in management compensation, multinational decision-making, corporate restructuring transactions, and succession planning. Emphasizes tax planning concepts and their application rather than the detail of the federal code.
200BV- Managerial Accounting(Elective) Information managers should know to be effective, including product costing, motivating people, and differential analysis for decision making. Includes team projects and written and oral presentations.
400AV - Financial Accounting Introduction to the concepts and objectives underlying the preparation of financial statements. Topics include understanding the accounting cycle, measurement and valuation problems associated with financial statement components, consideration of the usefulness of financial statements in the analysis of a corporation's operations.
Instructors will hold 10 live online sessions, one per week in a 10-week quarter, reviewing and expanding upon material presented to students in a pre-recorded format. Instructors are also required to assist with course grading and work with the course coordinator to ensure consistency across sections. A fast and stable internet connection is required.
