Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a part-time Lower School Teacher of Spanish, Grades K-4 beginning September 2021.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated, skilled world language teacher with demonstrated expertise teaching Spanish to students in early childhood and elementary school, as well as experience developing curriculum using the UBD approach. Knowledge of the FLES model is highly desired, and work with integrated curriculum development is beneficial.
The Modern Language Department seeks an approachable colleague who possesses a flexible attitude, emotional intelligence, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a sense of humor. Candidates need to possess a commitment to an equitable classroom culture inclusive of varied student experiences as well as an awareness of how race, gender, and other aspects of identity manifest themselves in the classroom. Trinity’s Modern Language Department offers instruction in Spanish, French, and Mandarin. Spanish instruction for all students begins in kindergarten, and in fifth grade, students can choose to continue with Spanish or switch to French. In ninth grade, students have the opportunity to study French, Mandarin, or Spanish.
