The University of Southern Mississippi, a member of Conference USA and NCAA Division I (FBS), invites applicants for the position of Creative Content Graduate Assistant. This is a 9-month, graduate student position that runs from August 16, 2021 to May 16, 2022 with the potential to be renewed. Position includes graduate school tuition and a monthly stipend. The Graduate Assistant for Creative Content will assist the creative team in managing the Southern Miss Athletics brand, create graphics, serve as a videographer and content creator for various sports. Reports directly to the Assistant AD of Creative Strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(50%) Under the direction of the Assistant AD for Creative Strategy, assist with the creation of graphics and digital content to promote the 17 intercollegiate sports on various media platforms
(25%) Attend athletic events (games, practices, etc.) to capture footage and photos to be used to further promote various sports in-game and throughout the season
(15%) Assist in planning and conducting photo and video shoots for various sports
(10%) Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Creative Services

-Working knowledge of creative software including: Adobe Premiere & Adobe After Effects
-Knowledge of general video shooting, producing, and editing principles
-An understanding of social and digital media trends and specifications
-High level of creativity and attention to detail
-Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter, and multi-tasker
-Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
-A minimum of one-year of experience in intercollegiate athletics as a student worker
-Proficient in creating graphics, digital content, game day templates, etc.
-Basic video shooting and editing skills
