Alexandria Country Day School seeks an individual to join the Aftercare Staff team for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. Aftercare Staff report to the AM & PM Care Director and are responsible for implementing daily activities after school and supervising children in grades K through 8th. Aftercare Staff are responsible for providing a joyful, fun, and well organized experience for students. Additionally, Aftercare staff setup and breakdown activity areas, ensure the availability of needed materials for children's daily activities, assist with the preparation and serving of snacks, and maintain attendance records, among other duties. Aftercare Staff are also responsible for maintaining site safety, cleanliness and the timely reporting of accidents or incidents that occur while children are in the program.

Staff are required to obtain and maintain a current TB test result or chest x-ray, pass criminal background and state sex offenders registry checks, attend 16 hours of training annually, have or obtain CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Training (MAT) certifications, and other potential state mandated requirements. Candidates must be physically able to participate in all activities planned for children, including being outside and standing for prolonged periods of time. This is a part-time position, paid hourly. After Care hours are Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. on days school is open. Additionally, the successful candidate would have the opportunity to work additional hours by providing coverage of the front desk for our receptionist’s lunch break up to three days per week. The successful candidate may be extended an offer of employment for the 2021-22 academic year (September - June).
