Catlin Gabel Middle School is looking for a dynamic art educator. This position teaches visual art to grades 6-8 and serves as a co-advisor to a group of students. We seek applicants who are interested in a dynamic relationship with students as well as their colleagues based in positivity and collegiality. In addition to daily formal teaching responsibilities, teachers are expected to participate in, and lead, activities that may take place outside of the classroom. As a progressive school, we expect all employees to embrace whole child education, inquiry-based practices, educating for democracy, and experiential learning pedagogies. This position requires use of a variety of teaching methods to support different learning styles, abilities, and have successful experience teaching visual art. Applicants should demonstrate excitement in helping all students build self-confidence and understand “artist” as part of their identity formation through exploration and discovery. Culturally competent and responsive teaching approaches are required. If this sounds like the opportunity for you, please apply at: https://catlin.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx
