 Provide instruction for the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Rigger & Signal Person Certification Program consisting of assessments and practical examinations that meet or exceed current ASME B30 consensus safety standards and OSHA 29 CFR part 1926 subpart CC. Utilize the NCCER Rigger Level 1, 2, and 3 programs to deliver training and assessments to job seekers and employees seeking certifications for rigging. Topics include: (Level 1) Rigging Practices, Crane Safety and Emergency Procedures, Basic Principles of Cranes, and Crane Communications; (Level 2) Intermediate Rigging, Load Dynamics, Wire Rope, Telescopic Boom Attachment Assembly and Disassembly, and Lattice Boom Assembly and Disassembly; and (Level 3) Advanced Rigging, Load Charts, Lift Planning, and Hoisting Personnel. Note that instruction may occur at employer worksites. This position is part-time PRN and will teach as classes are scheduled.

| The successful candidate must possess: HS/GED and at least two years of experience in the field of rigging and crane operations; Knowledge of computers to include MS Outlook e-mail and the internet; Ability to travel to Workforce Development Center in Franklin, Suffolk campus or employer location as needed; Flexibility to provide instruction days, evenings, and possibly weekends depending on employer need; Great customer service and organization skills; Excellent oral and written communication skills. High degree of safety awareness. |
