Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking applicants for graduate assistant positions in the following areas - Marketing, Annual Fund/Ticketing, and Facilities. MARKETING GRADUATE ASSISTANT (3 Positions) JOB DESCRIPTION: The graduate assistant will serve as the event manager for select sports, overseeing the event management, marketing, fan experience, etc. for those select sports under the direction of the Associate AD for Internal Operations and Fan Engagement. The individual will develop strategic initiatives to increase attendance for select sports and enhance in-game promotions to maximize the fan experience. This position will be responsible for sponsorship fulfillment at those athletic events. The Graduate Assistant will work with coaches on promotional concepts and interface with the Athletic Communications Office and Ticket Office to coordinate and implement successful in-game promotions, halftime activities and ticket sales efforts. This position will also be responsible for marketing events to SIUE students by utilizing social media and other outlets to promote events and games to generate awareness and increase attendance from the student body. In addition, the graduate assistant will assist with special events/projects and other duties as assigned by the Associate AD for Internal Operations and Fan Engagement. The graduate assistant in this position will develop skills in human relations, supervision skills, public presentations, and communication and documentation skills. Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events and comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Additional duties consistent with the Department’s goals and mission will also be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
FACILITIES GRADUATE ASSISTANT (2 Positions) JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the immediate supervision of the Associate AD for Internal Operations and Fan Engagement, the graduate assistant is primarily responsible in assisting all areas of operation for the Athletics' Event Management and Facilities. The individual will assist the Events and Facilities staff members and other staff members in Intercollegiate Athletics with planning, coordinating, and implementing programs and services and other duties as assigned. The graduate assistant with work closely with coaches and the marketing department on daily operations and events within athletics. The GA will also work with other campus departments such as Facilities Management, Campus Recreation, Police and Parking Services. Additional duties consistent with the Department’s goals and mission will also be assigned. The graduate assistant in this position will develop skills in human relations, supervision skills, public presentations, and communication and documentation skills. Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events and comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
ANNUAL FUND/TICKETING GRADUATE ASSISTANT (1 Position) JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the immediate supervision of the Assistant AD for Annual Fund and Ticketing, the graduate assistant will assist in all areas of operation for ticketing. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to, assisting in ticket sales, overseeing student tickets and engagement, overseeing player guests and will call, assisting with reconciliation and deposits and supervising game day ticket operations for specific sports, among other ticket-related responsibilities. Additionally, the graduate assistant will assist in development and fundraising operations, specifically assisting with special events including the Red & Black Benefit, managing stewardship program, and managing data systems and engagement communications. Additional duties consistent with the Department’s goals and mission will also be assigned. The graduate assistant in this position will develop skills in human relations, supervision skills, public presentations, and communication and documentation skills. Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events and comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
FOR ALL POSITIONS: PERIOD OF APPOINTMENT: 10-month appointment beginning August 1, 2021 through May 31, 2022. If successful, the position will be extended for a second appointment.
