OHSUs Student Health and Wellness Center (SHW) is seeking two passionate, reliable, flexible, and detail-oriented OHSU Student Workers to assist with starting and maintain a campus food pantry (the Food Resource Center @OHSU). The Food Resource Center will provide nutritious, no-cost food to OHSU students and employees to help mitigate food insecurity on campus. The mission of the Student Health & Wellness Center is to support the health and well-being of OHSU students and postdoctoral fellows during their academic careers at OHSU. As a small clinic, our providers and staff work hard to provide exceptional and confidential primary care, behavioral health care, wellness programming, and integrative medicine in our integrated clinic, located on the primary OHSU campus on Marquam Hill in Portland, Oregon. The Student Workers will also work closely with Food Pantry Task Force members from across campus. Working conditions: Work will occur remotely as well as on-site, including at the pantry location in OHSUs Student Center. Work may involve some local travel to pick up food items/supplies if needed. Physical demands & equipment usage: Work will require regular moving of fresh, packaged, and frozen food items. Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull approximately 40 lbs. repeatedly.
