Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Skills U (Adult Education) in Barren County is hiring a part-time Instructor. The Instructor will provide multi-level, multi-subject instruction to adult students online, at the campus, and the Barren County Correctional Facility and work 20 hours per week. The position reports to the Barren County Skills U Coordinator.

An Instructor provides contextualized, academic and workplace education to adult students 18 years and older, including instruction in literacy, adult basic education, GED® test preparation (Math, Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts), and workforce preparation. The primary student population are individuals who are attempting to earn and complete a GED®. The Instructor is responsible for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating instructional practices, procedures, and materials for their classes. Other program and classroom responsibilities will include: formally and informally assessing and monitoring learning; classroom management; student recruitment, retention, and record-keeping; overseeing intake, assessment, and data entry procedures; promoting the use of community resources and participation in other agencies' activities for the purpose of re-entry preparation; fulfilling professional development requirements; demonstrated experience with online learning tools and video-conferencing platforms; and adhering to all Barren County Correctional Facility processes and procedures.
All Instructors must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree. A degree in Education or a content-related field is preferred. Must achieve minimum scores on a diagnostic test to be administered in the interview process. Must be available to work designated days and times at the Barren County Correctional Facility and complete all professional development.
