UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE SPACE INSTITUTE (UTSI) 2021 SUMMER RESEARCH INTERN PROGRAM JOB DESCRIPTION: TheSummer Research Intern Program at UTSI in Tullahoma, Tennessee providesundergraduate students with research experiences. Interns are assigned to thesupervision of one or more UTSI professors and given a long-term researchproject to complete over the course of the summer. At the end of theirappointment, interns summarize their research in individual final reports anddiscuss their findings in short presentations. Some travel may berequired. Additional educationalopportunities are provided, including engineering seminars and a career paneldiscussion. Due to COVID-19developments, the program is subject to change.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS: 9 Week Summer Internship Application Deadline:Friday, March 5, 2020 Position Type: Temporary, Part-time (75%) Salary: Total of $4,050stipend ($15.00/hr x 30 hrs/wk x 9 wks) Location: UTSI campus inTullahoma, Tennessee Starts On: June 7, 2021 Ends On: August 6, 2021 Travel: Some travel toother facilities may be required.
HOUSING INFORMATION: A limited amount of on-campus housing is availablefor summer research interns. Rooms in the dormitory, adjacent to beautifulWoods Reservoir, can be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sharing ofa room with a room-mate may be required. The cost of the dorm room is notincluded in the stipend for the internship and must be paid out-of-pocket bythe intern. Pending COVID-19developments, availability of rooms could be affected.
