The function of the Radiology Hospital Aide for the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is to provide essential customer service support. The Radiology Hospital Aide completes organizational and exam preparation tasks with the purpose of assisting patients and OHSU Staff to complete diagnostic procedures. They are to assist with an array of clinical and clerical duties. Their primary responsibility is to assist with providing a safe and customer friendly environment within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. The Department of Diagnostic Imaging Services is committed to provide patients with the highest quality in patient care. We offer a wide spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic services in an efficient, professional, and timely manner. 1. Supports patient safety needs and provides patient monitoring. Provides patient with non-technical exam information. 2. Picks up supplies from pharmacy, cafeteria, etc. 3. Reviews and verifies that all upcoming imaging protocols have been completed by a radiologist, and notifies a technologists if there are some that are incomplete. 4. Provides patient transportation and escorts patients throughout the hospital as needed (inpatients and outpatients). 5. Stocks linen in exam rooms and stocks supplies in the holding areas 6.Is flexible about rotating from one area of Diagnostic Radiology to another with ease. 7.Assists with the lifting, moving, and transfer of non-ambulatory patients 8. Other duties as assigned.
