This is a part time role 20 hours per week (FTE 50%).
JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assignedsupervisor, this position investigates and validates heat shock factorHSF1-BDNF axis in CNS in response to acute and chronic stress conditions. Also,conducts research experiments and analyzes/presents data within the Departmentof Pharmacology.
Performs research in the study of heat shock factor HSF1 regulation of neuroprotection from gene to behavior.
Conducts tissue collection, sample processing (CHIP), qPCR, immunohistochemistry, and CHIP seq while under the Principal Investigator's (PI) supervision.
Generates and analyzes data.
Discusses data with the PI.
Assists other lab personnel, manages animal colonies, etc.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
