Part-time, hourly, PreK-12 ($18 per hour) SSFS seeks Paraeducators for all grades beginning January 2021. This role involves assisting teachers by performing a variety of tasks that promote student learning and well-being. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working in small groups to reinforce instruction, assisting with classroom management, supervising students engaged in virtual learning, ensuring that proper social distancing and health/safety protocols are followed, and providing general overall learning support. Some college coursework is preferred but a degree is not required; familiarity with Friends education, or the Society of Friends is also preferable. Requirements include demonstrated successful experience working with children in a school or camp setting; ability to exhibit patient behavior and to work effectively with children, young adults, and staff members; and possesses excellent verbal and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with standard desktop computer hardware and software such as MS Office products, Google Suite, and database software is necessary Physical Requirements: The ability to navigate stairs as part of daily routines; mobility around a large campus with uneven pavement and multiple buildings; bending and squatting as required to participate in activities; rearrange furniture as needed, lift/carry boxes up to 25 pounds; and the ability to maneuver as necessary within a classroom setting.
