Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System with a Fredericksburg Area Campus in Spotsylvania, a Locust Grove Campus, and several off-campus centers. Germanna Community College is seeking three part time-front line customer service professionals to work in multi-faceted positions in Enrollment Services. All of these positions work directly with students but each one has a specialty area in Admissions or the Enrollment Lab. Two of these positions are located primarily at the Fredericksburg Area campus and one is at the Locust Grove campus but will be virtual until further notice. Flexibility and a willingness to work at other locations, as needed, is a must. These positions are in a very fast paced and challenging environment. Enrollment Services provides students with assistance in admissions, registration, and financial aid as well as makes regular referrals to Counseling, Disabilities Services, Veteranâ™s Affairs, Testing and other support services. The successful candidate will answer inquiries from the public regarding programs and services offered by the college, and assist prospective, new, and continuing student's access student and academic support services. The ability to provide excellent customer service is essential to this position. This includes patience and the ability to understand and identify with the feelings of others and communicate accordingly. The selected candidates must also exhibit excellent problem-solving skills, and an ability to connect with a diverse population. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of identifying prospective students as well as timely follow-up to convert them from prospects to applicant. Once a student has applied, the person in this position will be required to provide follow up, troubleshoot any barriers the student may have as well as outline the onboarding process for new students.
